This
workshop, taught by Kevin Berntson, is an ongoing
program designed to give students the tools to create original characters
based on their own improvisational instincts. Using the same methods
employed by top improvisational and comedy writing schools such as the
Groundlings and Second City, students will begin with the basics, learning
the “rules” of improvisation through a variety of games
and exercises designed to build confidence and a supportive environment.
The process will culminate in front of an audience showcasing the students’
sketch comedy routines and improvisational abilities.
Kevin Berntson holds a MFA in Acting from UC San Diego and has also been a professional actor for seven years. He is currently a member of The Groundlings Sunday Company and has spent the last five years at The Groundlings School, the finest and most competitive comedy program in Los Angeles. Kevin is funny.
